2025: Increasing GitOps productivity

Happy new year to all GitOps enthusiasts 🥳

In 2024, GitOps reached the peak of inflated expectations. It could be reaching the plateau of productivity in less than two years, so Gartner predicts.

That’s some major progress after being stuck in the lower left corner for as far as I can remember. Which is 2021 😅

I’m curious about what the rather quick stint through the Through of Dillusion ahead will cause.

To me, 2024 already felt more boring (in the best sense) for GitOps, leaving aside the unraveling of Weaveworks, which I consider unrelated to GitOps as a concept.

On conferences, most people have heard about GitOps, many use it, and the discussions are much more about optimizing, increasing developer experience, optimizing.

In my opinion, promotion is one of the biggest unresolved issues to reach the plateau of productivity.

It is precisely there that we can see progress. For example:

Remarkably, these all belong to the Argo CD universe.

Excited to see these topics evolve!
